As the saying goes, a Zebra can’t change its stripes.
That’s apparently true of Mr Kristofer Fournier who was arrested on Monday night after getting nabbed by Police and charged with a total of fifteen (15) criminal offences that included;
- Driving While Impaired
- Refusing a Breath Demand
- Driving without a Licence
- Possess Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Police collared Fournier after he allegedly crashed into a parked car in the 1000 block of Sinclair Ave while driving under the influence.
Fournier was a central figure in the trial of WPS Constables Darrell Selley & Kristopher Overwater who were charged with attempt murder, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, criminal negligence, fabricating evidence and other offences that were laid regarding an incident that occurred in July of 2007.
Ironically, it was a combination of bad luck and poor decision-making that wrote the script for the final act that would climax with Fournier catching some “hot lead” from a Police Service firearm. Had Fournier not cruised by the Police in a “hot ride” full of narcotics, things might have turned out better for him. When he testified at the trial Fournier tried to establish some degree of credibility by assuring jury members he was a “changed man.”
Defense counsel for the officers suggested Constable Selley shot Fournier after he grabbed Constable Overwaters gun. Fournier contradicted the defense claims indicating he was shot while running away from the Police.
On February 8th, 2013 the jury returned a verdict of not guilty to all counts.
Fournier was detained in custody on the new charges.
