INSIDER COMMENTARY:

Upon attending the crime scene it was apparent a significant amount of blood-letting had occurred during the previous evenings confrontation.

Blood spatter and heavy blood stains were observed at several locations outside of the apartment block. The amount of blood observed suggests the use of extreme blunt force or an edged weapon.

In cases where significant amounts of blood are present, the WPS Identification Unit often secures of the services of RCMP blood pattern experts to provide interpretive evidence at the crime scene. Blood patterns can often tell their own story and can provide investigators with much-needed insight into the events that transpired during a fatal attack.
