“We’re still not entirely sure of the relationship or motive,” Winnipeg Police Public Information Officer Constable Rob Carver said.
On April 10, 2017, at approximately 3:10, a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to the 400 block of Camden Place in response to a 911 call.
Police indicate the first officer to arrive on scene located a female victim in her fifties suffering from serious upper body injuries.
The victim has been identified as Judy Kenny (54) years of age.
Kenny was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later, police arrested a suspect who was subsequently determined to be a resident of the normally quiet neighbourhood.
The suspect, Brenda Lee Schuff (44), has been charged with 2nd degree murder.
She was detained in custody.
Police have not released the cause of death but did indicate an “edged” weapon was used in the killing.
Media reports indicate Kenny was a former administrative assistant employed by CTV Winnipeg for over thirty years.
She lived alone with her dogs.
The killing rocked her former colleagues, many of whom posted tributes on social media memorializing and paying tribute to her.
Kenny is the 9th reported homicide victim in Winnipeg this year.
Cases where women are accused of killing other women are not as rare as you might think.

In 2016, a total of seven (7) women were victims of homicide in the City of Winnipeg.
