Police have identified the latest Winnipeg homicide victim.
Rustom Vito Paclipan (23) of Winnipeg died in hospital after being shot during a confrontation that took place on the street in the area of the Opera Ultralounge at Bannatyne Ave and Main Street.
Police responded to the call on May 4, 2014 at approximately 2:00 am after receiving 911 calls reporting a shooting had taken place. On arrival, Police determined a group of men had been involved in a confrontation that escalated to the point one (1) male produced a firearm and shot towards a group of people.
Paclipan was shot and taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
The cause of death is yet to be released.
Police advise two (2) additional male victims aged eighteen (18) and twenty-four (24) were also injured during the incident. Both victims received non-life-threatening injuries.
Paclipan’s is the ninth (9th) reported murder victim in Winnipeg this year.
Police have solved six (6) of the nine (9) killings.
The WPS Homicide Unit is continuing the investigation.
