Police are asking anyone who knew the victim to contact them to assist with the investigation.

(All of the previously reported homicides have been solved.)

INSIDER COMMENTARY:

Women represent three (3) of the five (5) murder victims reported this year.

Last year only five (5) women were victims of homicide.

Early indications suggest 2016 will be a particularly bad year for violence against women in the City of Winnipeg.

In 2015, Winnipeg recorded the 5th murder on April 17.
