Police Seek Alleged Killer in Recent Homicide

On December 20, 2016 at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing incident in the 400 block of Kennedy Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The victim was transported to hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the victim as Clarence Ignace (25) of Winnipeg.

On Friday, December 23, 2016, the WPS Public Information Office issued a press release indicating an arrest warrant for 2nd degree murder has been issued for an alleged offender identified as Tyron Custer Harper (23) of no fixed address.

Harper is described as Aboriginal, 5’10”  and weighs approximately 200 pounds.

Police indicate Harper is not to be approached by members of the public.

Ignace is the 24th reported homicide victim in Winnipeg this year.

Police have solved all but four cases – solvency rate = 83%.

In 2015, Police investigated a total of 23 homicides.

Of those 23 homicides, two (2) cases remain unsolved – solvency rate = 91%.
