On March 7, 2014, shortly after 12:00 am, Headingley RCMP, with assistance from the RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, began investigating a suspicious death in the RM of Macdonald.
No further details were released at that time.
On March 9, 2014, the RCMP advised the death was now considered a Homicide.
Police indicated the victim was a fifty-nine (59) year old male who resided in the RM of Macdonald.
The crime scene is being held by investigators.
No information was released regarding any suspects or the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
This incident is the fourth (4th) Homicide investigated by the RCMP in Manitoba this year.
All three (3) earlier murders have been solved.
A seventeen (17) year old male youth was charged with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with two (2) separate killings that occurred on the Bloodvein First Nation in February of this year.
The most recent murder occurred on March 1, 2014, on the Pimicikamak Cree Nation in Cross Lake, Manitoba.
