WPS IDENTIFY’S KING STREET MURDER VICTIM

Police have now identified the victim of the Cities twentieth (20th) murder for 2013.

Jamie Cook (23) years was found deceased after Police and EMS were dispatched to the 400 block of King Street on October 30, 2013 at 8:00 am regarding a “check the well-being” call.

Members of the Homicide Unit continue to investigate.

The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

No suspects have been identified or arrested at this point.

FACTOIDS:

Of the twenty (20) murders reported this year all but four (4) have been solved.  The WPS Homicide Unit had secured a 100% solvency rate until the month of September.  The wheels fell off  on September 4th when the City recorded a double homicide at 210 Chestnut Street.  The murders of Eunice Crow (19) & Trevor Sinclair (21) remains unsolved.

Police have also had difficulty solving the drug related murder of Justin Latinecz (22) that occurred on September 29, 2013.

The current WPS solvency rate stands at 80%.
