On Friday, May 17, 2013 a large presence of WPS officers were observed at a residence located at 4317 Roblin Blvd.

Sources indicate the home is the scene of tragic circumstances involving two (2) victims who have not been identified.  Up to a dozen Police Officers were observed at the scene which has been cordoned off with yellow Police tape.  EMS members were also observed to be patiently waiting at the scene which has clearly been secured for forensic examinations.

A WPS Identification Unit officer was briefed at the scene by uniform personnel.  Uniform Patrol Officers were observed to be conducting a door to door canvass in their efforts to gain information regarding the incident.

Several people were observed to attend the scene and meet with the Police after which time they clearly became distraught.

The WPS has not released any information regarding the incident, however, Public Information Officer Jason Michalyshen advised his office may release details about the investigation this afternoon.

Although Charleswood is an area of the City known for its peace and tranquility, there have been a few extraordinarily violent incidents that have occurred near the crime scene at 4317 Roblin Blvd.

In May 2000, seventy-three (73) year old Angelo Foti was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and discharge firearm with intent after shooting Jason Stein (32) at his residence at 4219 Roblin Blvd after a dispute involving a snowmobile.

In June 2009, a seventeen (17) year old boy brutally murdered and dismembered his forty-nine (49) year old father in their Marlton Cres home, a mere stones throw away from the latest crime scene.
