On Saturday, around 10:30 am, WPS officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting incident.  Subsequent investigation revealed a man had shot near a convenience store in the 500 block of William Ave.  Police subsequently located a twenty-five (25) year old male in the 500 block of Mcdermot Ave who appeared to have been shot in the upper body.  The man was transported to hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

Police Information Officer Eric Hofley stated “I don’t think it’s completely random. It doesn’t appear to be Joe Citizen just walking down the street.”

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit are investigating.

Police reports confirm the victim was transported to hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.
