Winnipeg’s real estate market was smoking hot in 2012.
So hot that million dollar homes were selling like cold beer at a Goldeyes game in July. In fact, one home on Wellington Cres sold for over two (2) million dollars.
In November of 2012, a total of 847 properties sold through MLS, the third highest November sales total on record. That number translated to record dollar volume sales of 215.8 million. The year ended with record home sales of 3.2 billion dollars.
According to veteran RE/MAX Agent Pat Werestiuk, the trend will continue.
Pat has been selling real estate in Winnipeg for over thirty-two (32) years now and has seen it all. He’s lived through the good times and the bad. It wasn’t all that long ago that Winnipeg’s real estate market lagged behind just about every other major Canadian City.
Pat credits his ability to survive the lean times to his dedication and commitment to his clients. When you work hard for people you are often rewarded with referral business. In the real estate industry, referrals are everything. “It all comes down to customer service, hard work and integrity,” Pat said.
“People want to deal with someone they can trust, and someone who’s going to be there for them when they call.”
That commitment to customer service is one of the reasons Pat is a RE/MAX Hall of Famer and a RE/MAX Western Canada Spirit of the West Award winner. He also makes it into the 100% club every year, a distinction reserved for agents who exceed four (4) million dollars in sales volume within a given year.
For Pat it’s not all about real estate sales. It’s more about Community; “I truly believe we all have a responsibility to get behind charitable causes in our Community,” Pat stressed.
Pat is known for his tireless efforts running the RE/MAX Miracle Makers Golf Tournament in support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation, an event he’s orchestrated for the last fourteen (14) years. He’s also the first guy to step up when it comes to planning fundraisers to help people who are afflicted by unexpected illness or injury.
Pat modestly estimates he’s participated in raising over $500,000 in charitable donations.
Pat Werestiuk is a die-hard Winnipeger, a rabid Jets & Bombers fan, an avid fisherman and an extremely talented golfer. He still plays recreational hockey every Saturday night mixing it up in the corners with an eclectic mix of players that includes several retired Police Officers.
I’ve known “Patty” for almost twenty years and can assure you that no one works harder for his clients than he does.
It was Pat who found our half-acre treed lot in an area of the City known for it’s peace and tranquility. A spot more reminiscent of cottage life than urban living. Pat knew what we wanted and refused to stop looking until he found it.
Looking to buy, looking to sell or maybe just looking to get a market appraisal, then you should think about giving Pat a call.
He’s one of the “good guys.”
