After experiencing forty-one (41) days of relative calm, Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit investigators find themselves investigating back to back killings in Murder City.
On June 22, 2016, Police reported the death of an unidentified fifty (50) year old man who lost his life in an arson involved incident in the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue.
Police confirmed the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
The case remains unsolved.
On June 23, 2016, EMS personnel responded to reports of an injured person at a suite located in the 400 block of Furby Street.
Upon arrival, an injured adult male was located suffering from serious upper body injuries. The man was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since succumbed to his injuries.
Police indicate the Homicide Unit is investigating.
No further information was released.
Autopsy results are pending.

The man killed in the latest incident represents the 13th reported homicide victim in Winnipeg this year.
Police have solved all but three (3) cases.
