Police Issue Arrest Warrant in Abraham Murder – Suspect at Large

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit have identified a man believed responsible for a recent murder in River City.

On August 22, 2015, shortly before 5:00 am, emergency services were dispatched to the 100 block of Donwood Drive regarding the report of an injured man.

Upon arrival, a man suffering from apparent stab wounds was located and transported to hospital in critical condition.

The man subsequently died from his injuries.

The deceased was identified as Darryl Arthur Abraham (36) years of Winnipeg.

The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit who were able to identify a suspect in the killing.  Attempts to locate the man were unsuccessful and as a result, police obtained a Canada Wide Warrant (Manslaughter) for his arrest.  The man was identified as:

George Guimond has had extensive involvement with the WPS over the years and is a “close” associate of the Indian Posse Street Gang.

His involvement with police includes murder charges laid in the 2006 killing of Ryan Neufeld (20) of Winnipeg.

Guimond and crew managed to escape justice in the Neufeld murder when the case crumbled before it went to trial.

Canadian Justice would eventually catch up to Guimond’s brother Michael, a notorious card carrying member of the Indian Posse Street Gang.


Darryl Abraham was the 16th murder victim reported in Winnipeg in 2015.

He is the 6th victim to die from stab wounds this year.

All but (2) homicides in 2015 have been solved.

Solvency rate 87.5 %.

Month Long Homicide Respite Over

The last homicide investigated by the WPS Homicide Unit occurred thirty-three (33) days ago on July 20, 2015 when the body of Justin Chezick (42) was discovered in a home in the north end that had been set ablaze.

Romeo Ryle (19) was subsequently charged with 2nd Degree Murder in connection with the incident.

Police have not released Chezick’s cause of death.
