Insider Commentary:

In 2018, the 21st homicide of the year was recorded on the 17th day of December.

In 2011, the City of Winnipeg recorded a record 41 homicide cases.

In 2011, the 21st homicide of the year was recorded on the 16th day of July.

(On July 16, 2011 – the WPS investigated the arson related homicide of five people that included 4 men and 1 woman ranging in ages from 22 – 56. While this incident had a dramatic impact on the homicide statistics, 2011 would have been a record year for homicide regardless.)
