On March 8, 2019, at approximately 4:45 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue regarding the report of an injured man.
On arrival, the injured man was located and rushed to hospital.
Police report the man subsequently died from his injuries.
The victim was not identified.
Police have not reported a motive for the killing or indicated if any suspects are in custody.
The cause of death will be determined after a post-mortem examination.
Police are asking anyone with information that may assist investigators to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-2477.
The man killed in this incident is the 7th reported homicide victim of the year.
(The Winnipeg Free Press & Winnipeg Sun are both erroneously reporting this case as the 6th homicide of the year.)
The previous six (6) homicide cases reported this year have all been solved.
In 2018, the 7th homicide of the year was reported on May 28.
In 2017, the 7th homicide of the year was reported on March 12.
