On September 4, 2013 at approximately 7:50 am, members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suite in the 200 block of Chestnut Street regarding the discovery of two (2) deceased occupants.

Police confirm two (2) deceased individuals were found in the residence and that members of the Homicide Unit are investigating.

No further details were released.

The residence in question appeared to be located at 210 Chestnut Street, a three-story home in a peaceful neighbourhood known more for manicured front yard gardens than for crime scenes and yellow Police tape.  In fact, the contrast between the crime scene tape and children’s side-walk chalk across the street was inescapable.

Should these deaths be classified as Homicides, they would be designated the seventeenth (17th) & eighteenth (18th) killings of the year.
