Butterfly On FireThe Winnipeg Police Service has announced a second arrest in connection with the murder of Arthur Haussermann.

Hausserman’s body was found by fire fighters on July 26, 2014 at approximately 5:40 am, after they were dispatched to a report of a fire alarm at an apartment building in the 100 block of Hargrave Street.

Police report Hausserman had injuries to his upper body.

Police have not disclosed the results of the autopsy leaving media to speculate regarding the cause of death.

On July 29, 2014, shortly after 4:00 pm, Police arrested suspect Clarissa Dawn Ponace (29) of Winnipeg and charged her with;

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Arson Disregard for Human Life
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 4
  • Fail to Comply with Probation x 2

She was detained in custody.

Second Woman Arrested

On July 29, 2014, a second suspect identified as Raven Desjarlais (27) was arrested by members of the Regina Police Service on the strength of a Canada Wide Warrant.

On August 1, 2014, Desjarlais was returned to Winnipeg and detained at the Provincial Remand Center on the following charges;

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Arson Disregard for Human Life

*An unrelated Robbery Warrant was also executed at the time of her arrest.

Desjarlais remains in custody.

Haussermann is the fourteenth (14th) homicide victim in Winnipeg this year.

I just saw an old story about Winnipeg and you were there, goodness we are getting old lol, I remember you helping out the aboriginal youth I worked with so many years ago. Seeing your friendly face again made my spirit smile. Please know you made in a difference in other people’s lives although you may never hear it out in the open:) God bless you friend
